Hightown Homes

What about when I want to move on?

You can sell your home whenever you like. Under the terms of your lease there will be a ‘nomination period’, where Hightown Homes can nominate a qualifying buyer that may want to buy your property.

To start the sale process, the current market value of the property must be determined. A chartered surveyor will be instructed to carry out a valuation. As the home owner, you’ll be responsible for paying the fee for this valuation whether you decide to go ahead or not. On completion of the sale you will also have to pay fees as set out in your lease. If we’re unable to find a buyer you can sell your property through an estate agent at the set valuation figure.

When you sell you’ll have to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), which contains detailed information about the energy efficiency of your property. Also, remember to keep all warranties, service charge details and any other relevant information in a safe place. We can provide you with more information about EPCs when you decide to sell. The Home Ownership team will help you with the sale process.
